For the past couple of years, scoring mixers have been recognized alongside re-recording, production, ADR and foley mixers. In the Motion Pictures – Live Action category, the scoring mixers honored include Nick Baxter for James Mangold’s A Complete Unknown (on which Baxter also served as the executive music producer), Peter Cobbin for Shawn Levy’s Deadpool vs. Wolverine (music by Rob Simonsen), Alan Meyerson for Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Two (scored by Hans Zimmer) & Gladiator II (scored by Harry Gregson-Williams) and John Michael Caldwell for Jon M. Chu’s Wicked (music by John Powell & Stephen Schwartz). In the Motion Pictures – Animated category, the nominated scoring mixers are Warren Brown for Pixar’s Inside Out 2 (scored by Andrea Datzman), David Boucher for Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Moana 2 (music by Mark Mancina), Chris Fogel for Barry Jenkins’ Mufasa: The Lion King (scored by Dave Metzger), Alan Meyerson for DreamWorks Animation’s The Wild Robot (music by Kris Bowers) and Simon Rhodes for Aardman Animations’ Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl (scored by Lorne Balfe & Julian Nott). In the Motion Picture – Documentary category, Tim Oliver received a nomination for mixing Redi Hasa‘s score for Irene Taylor Brodsky‘s I Am: Celine Dion, Steve McLaughlin was nominated for mixing Ilan Eshkeri’s music for Ian Bonhôte’s & Peter Ettedgui’s Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story and Forest Christenson earned a nomination for mixing James Everginham’s & Stewart Mitchell’s score for Paul Crowder’s The Blue Angels. In the Non-Theatrical Motion Picture or Limited Series category, scoring mixer Thor Fienberg was recognized for his work on the fifth episode of Apple TV+’s Masters of the Air (scored by Blake Neely) and Michael Pertiff was nominated for the episode Sommerso of the Netflix series Ripley (scored by Jeff Russo). In the Television Series – 1 Hour category, Goetz Botzenhardt received a nomination for the sixth episode of HBO’s True Detective: Night Country (scored by Vince Pope) and in the Television Series – 1/2 Hour category, Alan DeMoss was nominated for the Season 4 episode Blow Up of Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building (music by Siddhartha Khosla). In the Television Non-Fiction, Variety or Music – Series or Specials category, Casey Stone received a nomination as scoring mixer of Ron Howard’s Disney+ documentary Jim Henson: Idea Man (scored by David Fleming). For a full list of nominations, visit the Cinema Audio Society’s official website.
