Joseph Trapanese (Oblivion, Shadow and Bones, Straight Outta Compton, The Witcher, The Greatest Showman, Project Power, The Raid: Redemption) has provided the original score for the upcoming Netflix original anime film The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep. The movie is directed by Kang Hei Chul and features the voices of Doug Cockle, Joey Batey, Anya Chalotra and Christina Wren. The Studio MIR production follows Geralt of Rivia, a mutated monster hunter, as he is hired to investigate a series of attacks in a seaside village and finds himself drawn into a centuries-old conflict between humans and merpeople. Mike Ostrowski and Rae Benjamin wrote the screenplay based on Andrzej Sapkowski’s short story A Little Sacrifice. The Witcher showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich is producing the project. Trapanese has previously scored the last two seasons (2 & 3) of Netflix’s The Witcher live-action series and is also returning to compose the music for Season 4, which is expected to debut in 2025. The first The Witcher anime feature, Nightmare of the Wolf, was scored by Brian D’Oliveira. The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep will premiere on February 11, 2025 exclusively on Netflix.
Trapanese’s other recent scoring credits include NBC’s Brilliant Minds, which premiered over the last few months with two more episodes to debut on January 6.
