Daniel Blumberg has composed and produced the original music for the upcoming movie musical Ann Lee. The film is directed by Mona Fastvold and stars Amanda Seyfried, Thomasin McKenzie, Lewis Pullman, Tim Blake Nelson, Christopher Abbott, Stacy Martin, Viola Prettejohn, Matthew Beard, Scott Handy, David Cale and Jamie Bogyo. The drama is inspired by real events and centers on the titular founding leader of the Shaker Movement, who was proclaimed by her followers as the female Christ and went on to build one of the largest utopian societies in American history. Fasvold is also producing the project with Brady Corbet (Vox Lux, The Childhood of a Leader), Andrew Morrison (Funny Face), Joshua Horsfield (Settlers), Viktoria Petranyi (Dance First), Mark Lampert, Gregory Jankilevitsch (Woman Of...), Klaudia Smieja-Rostworowska (Lamb, High Life) and Lillian LaSalle. Blumberg has previously scored Fastvold’s first feature, The World to Come, and also composed the music for the Fastvold-produced and Corbet-directed The Brutalist, which will be released in theaters this coming Friday, December 20 by A24.
