Brian Tyler (The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Iron Man 3, Fast & Furious, Crazy Rich Asians, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Thor: The Dark World, Transformers One, Now You See Me) has recently been recording his score for the upcoming historical thriller Nuremberg. The film marks the second directorial effort of writer/producer James Vanderbilt (Zodiac, The Amazing Spider-Man) and stars Russell Crowe, Rami Malek, Michael Shannon, Leo Woodall, Richard E. Grant, John Slattery, Colin Hanks, Lydia Peckham, Wrenn Schmidt, Lotte Verbeek, Mark O’Brien and Andreas Pietschmann. The movie is based on the book The Nazi and the Psychiatrist by Jack El-Hai and chronicles the eponymous trials held in 1945 & 1946 by the Allies against the defeated Nazi regime. Vanderbilt is also producing the Bluestone Entertainment & Walden Media production with Richard Saperstein (Cell, Devil’s Knot), Brad Fischer (Shutter Island, Suspiria), Istvan Major (Slingshot) and William Sherak & Paul Neinstein (Scream, The Night Agent) are producing, Tyler has previously scored Vanderbilt’s 2015 directorial debut, Trust, and also composed the music for several other movies produced by the filmmaker. Nuremberg is expected to premiere in 2025.
Tyler’s other recent projects include the final episodes of Paramount Network’s Yellowstone (co-scored with Breton Vivian), which currently air every Sunday. He also serves as the score producer on the upcoming drama Last Days directed by Justin Lin (Fast Five, Star Trek Beyond), written by Ben Ripley (Source Code) and starring Radhika Apte, Naveen Andrews, Sky Yang and Ken Leung. The movie (scored by Nathan Alexander) tells the story of missionary John Allen Chau who believes he has been chosen to save the souls of the uncontacted tribe of North Sentinel Island and is also expected to premiere in 2025.
