Dustin O’Halloran (LionTransparentLike Crazy, The Old Guard, AmmoniteThe Essex Serpent, A Spy Among Friends) has been tapped to score the upcoming romantic comedy Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy. The film is directed by Michael Morris (To Leslie, Better Call Saul) and stars Renée Zellweger, Hugh Grant, Emma Thompson, Leo Woodall, Isla Fisher, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Jim Broadbent and Gemma Jones. The fourth installment in the Bridget Jones series follows the title character who is now a single mother and trying to forge a new path toward life and love, when she goes back to work and even tries out the dating apps, where she’s soon pursued by a dreamy and enthusiastic younger man. Helen Fielding wrote the screenplay based on her novel, with contributions from Abi Morgan (The Iron Lady, Eric) and Dan Mazer (I Give It a Year, Dirty Grandpa). Tim Bevan & Eric Fellner (Atonement, Les Miserables) are producing the Working Title production with Jo Wallett (Wicked Little Letters, Catherine Called Birdy). Patrick Doyle has previously scored the original 2021 Bridget Jones’s Diary film, while Harry Gregson-Williams has composed the music for the 2004 sequel Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason and Craig Armstrong has scored 2016’s Bridget Jones’s Baby. Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy will be released theatrically in the UK and other international markets starting on February 12, 2025 and will debut in the U.S. on February 13 on Peacock.
