Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the animated documentary Piece by Piece directed by Morgan Neville and featuring the voices of Pharrell Williams (who also wrote the movie’s original songs), Gwen Stefani, Jay-Z, Missy Elliott, Kendrick Lamar, Timbaland and Justin Timberlake. The film’s original score original score is composed by Michael Andrews (Donnie Darko, Freaks & GeeksDaddy’s Home, Bridesmaids, Bad Teacher, Me and You and Everyone We KnowFunny People). Also opening wide is the biographical drama The Apprentice directed by Ali Abbasi and starring Sebastian Stan, Jeremy Strong, Maria Bakalova and Martin Donovan. Martin Dirkov (Holy SpiderShorta, Border, KnockingHolidayThe Charmer) has composed the film’s original score and David Holmes (Ocean’s ElevenKilling EveOut of Sight) & Brian Irvine (Ordinary Love) have contributed additional music. Filmtrax/Atlantic Screen Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score today. Also opening nationwide is the slasher sequel Terrifier 3 written and directed by Damien Leone and starring Lauren LaVera, David Howard Thornton, Elliott Fullam, Antonella Rose, Samantha Scaffidi, Bryce Johnson, Margaret Anne Florence, Alexa Blair and Mason Mecartea. The film’s original music is composed by Paul Wiley (Frankenstein vs. the Mummy) who previously scored the first two movies. No soundtrack album has been announced yet. The film, which follows Sienna and her brother whose holiday cheer turns into a new nightmare when Art the Clown returns, is being released by Cineverse.

Also opening nationwide is the Japanese animated superhero movie My Hero Academia: You’re Next directed by Tensai Okamura and written by Yosuke Kuroda. Yuki Hayashi who previously scored the My Hero Academia TV series and the first three features has composed the film’s original music. Milan Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score last August when the movie opened in Japan. Opening in New York and Los Angeles today before expanding to more markets next Friday, October 18, is the romantic drama We Live in Time directed by John Crowley and stars Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh. The film’s original music is composed by Bryce Dessner (The Two PopesSing Sing, Cyrano, Bardo, C’mon C’mon, She Came to Me, A Good PersonWidow Cliquot, Manhunt). A24 Music will release a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score next Thursday, October 17. Opening in select theaters this weekend before premiering on Thursday, October 17 on Prime Video is the comedy Brothers directed by Max Barbakow and starring Josh Brolin, Peter Dinklage, Taylour Paige, Jennifer Landon, M. The film’s original music is composed by Dan Romer (LucaStation Eleven, Beasts of the Southern Wild, Beasts of No NationManiac, The Good DoctorSuperman & Lois) & Mike Tuccillo (RamyLove Life). Opening in select theaters and on VOD today (and before coming out on DVD on October 22) is the crime thriller The Silent Hour directed by Brad Anderson and starring Joel Kinnaman, Sandra Mae Frank, Mark Strong and Mekhi Phifer.
