Harry Escott (Shame, Roadkill, Welcome to the Punch, Hard CandyThe English Game, The Wedding Guest, The Face of an Angel) is the composer of the new ITV drama Joan. The show is created by Anna Symon (The Essex Serpent, Deep Water) and stars Sophie Turner, Frank Dillane, Kirsty J. Curtis, Gershwyn Eustache Jnr and Laura Aikman. The 6-part series is set in 1980s London and tells the story of notorious jewel thief Joan Harrington’s meteoric rise from petty offender to highly talented diamond thief and criminal mastermind. Ruth Kenley-Letts (Mrs. Wilson, The Midwich Cuckoos), Jenny Van Der Lande (You Don’t Know Me, Too Close) and Neil Blair (Stonehouse, The Casual Vacancy) are executive producing the project for Snowed-In Productions. Richard Laxton (Effie Gray, Burton & Taylor) is the lead director. Escott has previously co-scored the Laxton-scored 2022 series The Thief, His Wife and the Canoe. Joan is premiering in the UK tonight on ITV (and will also be available to stream on ITV) and will debut in the U.S. this coming Wednesday, October 2 on the CW.
