Varese Sarabande has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1972 psychological horror thriller The Other directed by Robert Mulligan and starring Uta Hagen, Diana Muldaur, Chris Udvarnoky & Martin Udvarnoky. The Deluxe Edition album features the first-ever release of the complete original score (in stereo) from the film composed and conducted by Academy Award winner Jerry Goldsmith (The Omen, Chinatown, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Planet of the Apes, Basic Instinct, L.A. Confidential, Patton, Poltergeist, Gremlins). Visit the label’s official website to order the CD version. A digital version will be coming out next Friday, September 27. Varese has previously released a 22 minute suite of Goldsmith’s score from the movie (coupled with the composer’s music from The Mephisto Waltz) back in 1997. The Other is now available on DVD.
