Julia Newman (Feud: Capote vs. The Swans, At the Gates, American Horror Stories) has been tapped to score the new ABC drama Doctor Odyssey. The show is created by Ryan Murphy (Glee, American Horror Story), Jon Robin Baitz (Brothers & Sisters, The Slap) & Joe Baken and stars Joshua Jackson, Phillipa Soo, Sean Teale and Don Johnson. The series follows a new on-board doctor for a luxury cruise ship and his small but mighty medical team as they navigate unique medical crises. Murphy, Baitz, Baken, Jackson & Johnson are also executive producing the 20th Television production with Eric Paquette, Alexis Martin Woodall (American Crime Story, 9-1-1), Eric Kovtun (The Watcher, Hollywood), Scott Robertson (Blonde, The Andy Warhol Diaries) and Nissa Diederich, as well as Paris Barclay (Sons of Anarchy, In Treatment) who also directed the pilot episode. Doctor Odyssey will premiere next Thursday, September 26 on ABC and will also be available to stream on Hulu.
Newman has also recently co-scored Netflix’s Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story (with Thomas Newman), which is premiering this Thursday, September 19.
