Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the fantasy comedy sequel Beetlejuice Beetlejuice directed by Tim Burton and starring Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, Jenna Ortega, Justin Theroux, Catherine O’Hara, Monica Bellucci, Arthur Conti and Willem Dafoe.  The film’s original score is composed by Danny Elfman (Spider-Man, BatmanThe Nightmare Before Christmas, Alice in Wonderland, Edward ScissorhandsAvengers: Age of Ultron). WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s main title theme and end credits track, as well as the songs from the movie by artists such as Bee Gees, Donna Summer, Richard Marx, Tess Parks & others today. Also opening wide is the psychological horror thriller The Front Room directed by Max Eggers & Sam Eggers and starring Brandy Norwood, Kathryn Hunter, Neal Huff and Andrew Burnap. Marcelo Zarvos (The Equalizer 3May December, Fences, Emancipation, The Good Shepherd, Wonder, The AffairRay Donovan) has composed the film’s original music. A24 Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. Opening in select U.S. theaters today is the Canadian psychological thriller Red Rooms (Les chambres rouges). The film’s original music is composed by Dominique Plante (Fake Tattoos). Les Productions Nemesis Films has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score last fall when the movie opened in Canada. Opening in select theaters today before premiering on Netflix on September 20 is the drama His Three Daughters written and directed by Azazel Jacobs and starring Natasha Lyonne, Elizabeth Olsen, Carrie Coon, Jovan Adepo, Jay O. Sanders, Rudy GalvanJose Febus,  Randy Ramos Jr. and Jasmine Bracey. Brazilian singer/songwriter Rodrigo Amarante (7 Days in Entebbe) has composed the film’s original score. No soundtrack album has been announced yet. Also opening in select theaters today is the western The Thicket directed by Elliott Lester and starring Peter Dinklage, Juliette Lewis, Levon Hawke, Gbenga Akinnagbe, Esme Creed-Miles, Leslie Grace, Ned Dennehy, Macon Blair, James Hetfield, Arliss Howard and David Midthunder. The film’s original music is composed by musician Ray Suen (known for his work with Childish Gambino, Lorde, among other artists) who has made his feature scoring debut on the project. No word on a soundtrack release. The movie, which follows a bounty hunter and a band of unlikely heroes as they pursue a brutal killer and find themselves in a deadly no-man’s-land, is being distributed by Samuel Goldwyn Films and released by Tubi Films.

Opening in select U.S. theaters and on VOD today is the British thriller Betrayal co-written and directed by Rodger Griffiths and starring Paul Higgins, Brian Vernel, Daniel Portman, James Harkness, Calum Ross, Anita Vettesse and Joanne Thomson. Max Aruj & Steffen Thum (CrawliBoy, Warning Shot) have composed the film’s original music. MovieScore Media has released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score today.
