Decca Records will release a soundtrack album for the drama The Outrun. The album features the film’s original music composed by John Gürtler Jan Miserre (System Crasher, A Mouthful of AirFor Jojo, Kids Run, Space Dogs, Fig Tree). The soundtrack will be released digitally on September 13 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A vinyl edition is also in the works. A first track (Corncrake) is already available to stream/download now and can be checked out after the jump. The Outrun is co-written and directed by Nora Fingscheidt and stars Saoirse Ronan, Paapa Essiedu, Saskia Reeves and Stephen Dillane. The movie is based on Amy Liptrot’s memoir and revolves around a young woman who must wrestle with recovery in the remote islands of Orkney whilst reckoning with her complex family history. The drama, which premiered at this year’s Berlin Film Festival, will open in UK theaters on September 27 and has been picked up by Sony Pictures Classics for a domestic release on October 4.
