Rupert Gregson-Williams (Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Hacksaw Ridge, The Legend of Tarzan, Smallfoot, Over the Hedge, Hotel Rwanda) has recently scored the new Netflix limited series The Perfect Couple. The show is developed by Jenna Lamia (My Best Friend’s Exorcism) based on the book of the same title by Elin Hilderbrand and stars Nicole Kidman, Dakota Fanning, Eve Hewson, Jack Reynor, Billy Howle, Liev Schreiber, Ishaan Khatter, Sam Nivola, Michael Beach, Meghann Fahy, Mia Isaac, Donna Lynne Champlin and Isabelle Adjani. The mystery drama directed by Susanne Bier (The Night Manager, In a Better World) follows a woman who is about to marry into one of the wealthiest families on Nantucket, until a shocking death derails the wedding — and turns everyone into a suspect. Lamia, Hildebrand & Bier are also executive producing the project with Shawn Levy (Deadpool & Wolverine, Free Guy) for 21 Laps Entertainment, Gail Berman (Wednesday, Buffy the Vampire Slayer) and Hend Baghdady (Monarch, Grimsburg) for The Jackal Group, Kidman & Per Saari (Big Little Lies, Nine Perfect Strangers) for Blossom Films, as well as Josh Barry (Shadow & Bone, Lost Ollie). The Perfect Couple will premiere on September 5, 2024 exclusively on Netflix.
Gregson-Williams’ other recent projects include the Netflix film The Union, which just premiered last Friday, as well as Max Barbakow’s Brothers, which will premiere on October 17 on Prime Video. He also continues to co-score HBO’s The Gilded Age (with his brother Harry), which will return for a third season.
