Federico Jusid (The Secret In Their Eyes, The English, A Gentleman in Moscow, Watership Down, Misconduct, The Head, Life Itself) is scoring the upcoming comedy drama The Penguin Lessons. The film is directed by Peter Cattaneo (The Full Monty, The Rocker) and stars Steve Coogan, Jonathan Pryce, Vivian El Jaber, Alfonsina Carrocio, Björn Gustafsson and David Herrero. The movie is based on Tom Michell’s nonfiction book of the same title and the true story of a disillusioned Englishman who travels to in Buenos Aires in 1976 to take up a teaching position at a prestigious English boarding school and whose life is turned upside down when he finds a small penguin washed up on an oil-slicked beach.. Jeff Pope (Philomena, The Lost King) wrote the screenplay. 42’s Ben Pugh & Rory Aitken (The Courier, The Autopsy of Jane Doe) are producing the project with Nostromo Pictures’ Adrián Guerra (Buried, Grand Piano), as well as Andy Noble and Robert Walak (War & Peace). The Penguin Lessons will premiere next month at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival.
