Dario Marianelli (Atonement, Pride and Prejudice, V for Vendetta, Darkest HourAnna Karenina, Kubo and the Two Strings, Bumblebee) is returning to score the upcoming family adventure Paddington in Peru. The film is directed by Dougal Wilson and stars Hugh Bonneville, Emily Mortimer, Olivia Colman, Antonio Banderas, Julie Walters, Samuel Joslin, Madeleine Harris, Carla Tous and Jim Broadbent, as well as Ben Whishaw and Imelda Staunton as the voices of Paddington and Aunt Lucy. The movie follows the title character as he returns to visit his beloved Aunt Lucy, who now resides at the Home for Retired Bears, when a mystery plunges them into an unexpected journey through the Amazon rainforest and up to the mountain peaks of Peru. Mark Burton (Madagascar, Shaun the Sheep Movie), Jon Foster and James Lamont (The Adventures of Paddington) wrote the screenplay based on a story by Paul King & Simon Farnaby (Wonka) and Burton. Heyday Films’ David Heyman (Harry Potter series, Gravity) and Rosie Alison (Testament of Youth, The Secret Garden) are producing the Studiocanal production. Marianelli has previously scored King’s Paddington 2, while Nick Urata has composed the music for the original 2015 movie. Paddington in Peru is set to be released in UK theaters on November 8, 2024 and will be released in the U.S. on by January 17, 2025 by Sony Pictures.
