Piki Island Limited has released a soundtrack EP for the New Zealand drama We Were Dangerous. The 5-track EP features the film’s original music composed by Cam Ballantyne (Nude Tuesday, James & Isey). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on most major digital music services, including Amazon. Also listen to the composer’s first track (Escape) after the jump. We Were Dangerous is directed by Josephine Stewart-Te Whiu and stars Erana James, Rima Te Wiata, Nathalie Morris and Manaia Hall. The movie executive produced by Taika Waititi tells the story of a trio of delinquent schoolgirls railing against the colonial system in 1950s New Zealand. The drama premiered at this year’s SXSW Film Festival and will be released in New Zealand theaters on August 22. No domestic distribution deal has been announced yet.
