Gardener Recordings has released a soundtrack album for the drama The Unknown Country. The album features the film’s original score composed by Alexis Marsh & Sam Jones (Animal Kingdom, We’ll Never Have Paris, Next Gen, Equity, Lila & Eve), as well additional music by Neil Halstead. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. The Unknown Country is co-written and directed by Morrisa Maltz and stars Lily Gladstone, Raymond Lee, Lainey Bearkiller Shangreaux, Richard Ray Whitman, Devin Shangreaux, Pam Richter, Jazmine Bearkiller Shangreaux and Scott Stample. The movie follows a grief-stricken woman who is pulled back into the world by an unexpected invitation to her cousin’s wedding in South Dakota, where she reconnects with her family and retraces a surreal journey that her grandmother took decades ago, searching for the spot captured in an old family photograph. The drama, which premiered at the 2022 SXSW Film Festival, was released in select theaters last summer by Music Box Films and is now available on VOD, Blu-ray and DVD.
