Sherri Chung (Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai, Kung Fu, Riverdale, Happiness for Beginners, The Last Husband) has recently scored the upcoming thriller Divorce in the Black. The film is written and directed by Tyler Perry and stars Meagan Good, Cory Hardrict, Shannon Wallace, Joseph Lee Anderson, Taylor Polidore, Richard Lawson and Debbi Morgan. The movie follows a young bank professional who is devastated when her husband abandons a marriage and is determined to fight for until fate intervenes, revealing that her wicked deeds that have trashed their marriage. Perry (For Colored Girls, Madea series, A Jazzman’s Blues) & Good are also producing the project with Angi Bones (The House Next Door 2: Meet the Blacks), Will Areu (Nobody’s Fool, Acrimony) and Dianne Ashford (Mea Culpa). Tyler Perry’s Divorce in the Black will premiere on July 11, 2024 exclusively on Prime Video.
Chung’s other upcoming projects include the second season of the animated series Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai, entitled Gremlins: The Wild Batch, which is set to premiere this fall on Max. She also continues to score Peacock’s Based on a True Story, which will return for a second season and is also expected to score the second season of NBC’s Found.
