Kristian Eidnes Andersen (Antichrist, Vivarium, Ida, The Playlist, The Man Who Saved the World, Nobel, Petra) has composed the original score for the upcoming comedy Rumours. The film is directed by Guy Maddin (My Winnipeg, The Saddest Music in the World) with longtime collaborators Evan Johnson & Galen Johnson, and stars Cate Blanchett, Alicia Vikander, Roy Dupuis, Denis Ménochet, Charles Dance, Nikki Amuka-Bird, Takehiro Hira, Rolando Ravello and Zlatko Burić. The movie follows the seven leaders of the world’s wealthiest liberal democracies attending their annual G7 summit as they get lost in the woods at night while attempting to draft their provisional statement. Liz Jarvis is producing the project for Buffalo Gal Pictures, alongside Philipp Kreuzer (Siberia, The Happy Prince) for Maze Pictures and Lars Knudsen (The Northman, American Honey) for Square Peg. Ari Aster (Hereditary, Midsommar) serves as an executive producer. Rumours will premiere this weekend at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival and is expected to be released in U.S. theaters later this year by Bleecker Street.
