Mac Quayle (Mr. Robot, Feud: Betty and Joan, Leave the World Behind, American Crime Story, The Politician, Ratched) has recently scored the upcoming drama The Great Lillian Hall. The film is directed by Michael Cristofer (Original Sin, Gia, The Night Clerk) and stars Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates, Lily Rabe, Jesse Williams and Pierce Brosnan. The movie revolves around a beloved Broadway star who finds herself blindsided by confusion and forgetfulness as she is preparing for her next big role and must navigate a tumultuous emotional journey – balancing her desire for the spotlight and the stark demands of the real world. Elisabeth Seldes Annacone wrote the screenplay. Bruce Cohen (American Beauty, Silver Linings Playbook), Steven Rogers (I, Tonya, Mike), Scott Thigpen and Marie Halliday are producing the project. Cristofer, Lange & Bates are executive producing with Tom Cappello and Alex Platis. The Great Lillian Hall will premiere on May 31, 2024 on HBO and will also be available to stream on Max.
Quayle also continues to score FX’s American Horror Story, which just finished its twelfth season (Delicate) last month and will return for a thirteenth season.
