Högni Egilsson (Under the Tree, Against the Current) has recently scored the upcoming Icelandic thriller Touch. The film is directed by Baltasar Kormákur (Everest, 2 Guns, Adrift) and stars Egill Olafsson, Kōki, Masahiro Motoki, Sigurdur Ingvarsson, Palmi Kormakur and Yoko Narahashi. The movie is based on the bestselling novel of the same title by Ólafur Jóhann Ólafsson and follows one widower’s emotional journey to find his first love who disappeared 50 years ago, before his time runs out. Kormákur also co-wrote the screenplay with Ólafsson. He is also producing the project with Agnes Johansen (Trapped, The Deep) and Mike Goodridge (Club Zero). Egilsson has previously scored the Kormákur-produced Netflix series Katla. Touch will open in Icelandic theaters on May 29 and will be released in the U.S. on July 12 by Focus Features.
