Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album for the Iranian drama Tatami. The album features the film’s original score composed by Dascha Dauenhauer (Golda, Berlin Alexanderplatz, The Swarm, Blood Red Sky, A Million Minutes, Bliss, Souls). Also included is the movie’s title song produced by the composer and performed by Justina. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. Listen to the Dauenhauer’s first track (Leila & Nader) and Justina’s song after the jump. Tatami is directed by Guy Nattiv & Zar Amir Ebrahimi and stars Arienne Mandi, Amir herself, Jaime Ray Newman and Ash Goldeh. The movie tells the story of an Iranian female judo athlete who travels to a world championship with her coach, when they receive an ultimatum from the Islamic Republic ordering her to fake an injury and lose, or she will be branded a traitor of the state. The drama, which premiered at last year’s Venice Film Festival and just opened in Italian theaters earlier this month, has been picked up by XYZ Films for a domestic release later this year.
