Danny Bensi & Saunder Jurriaans (Ozark, Enemy, The White Tiger, The Outsider, The Staircase, The Devil All the Time, Boy Erased, Tokyo Vice) have provided the original score for the upcoming horror thriller Speak No Evil. The film is written and directed by James Watkins (The Woman in Black, McMafia, Eden Lake) and stars James McAvoy, Mackenzie Davis, Scoot McNairy and Alix West Lefler. The movie is based on Christian & Mads Tafdrup’s 2022 Danish feature of the same title (scored by Sune “Køter” Kølster) about a family that gets invited to a dream holiday at an idyllic country house that warps into a snarled psychological nightmare. Jason Blum (Get Out, Insidious, Halloween) is producing the project for Blumhouse. Bensi & Jurriaans have previously scored Blumhouse’s The Gift. Speak No Evil will be released in theaters nationwide on September 13, 2024 by Universal Pictures.
Bensi’s & Jurriaans’ other recent feature projects include Kyle Mooney’s Y2K, which premiered at this year’s SXSW Film Festival and will be released in 2024 by A24, as well as Brian Crano’s & David Craig’s I Don’t Understand You, which also premiered at SXSW and is currently awaiting a distribution deal.
