Blake Neely (The Pacific, Greyhound, The Flash, Arrow, Everwood, Riverdale, Good Night Oppy) has teamed up with Murat Selçuk to score the upcoming Netflix original series Dead Boy Detectives. The show is developed by Steve Yockey based on characters created by Neil Gaiman & Matt Wagner and stars George Rexstrew, Jayden Revri, Kassius Nelson, Yuyu Kitamura, Jenn Lyon, Lukas Gage, Briana Cuoco, David Iacono and Ruth Connell. The supernatural comedy drama is set in The Sandman Universe and follows two teen ghosts who work alongside a clairvoyant to solve mysteries for their supernatural clientele – until a powerful witch complicates their plans. Yockey serves as the project’s co-showrunner, alongside Beth Schwartz (Sweet Tooth). Both are also executive producing the Warner Bros. Television production with Greg Berlanti (Love, Simon, Life As We Know It), Jeremy Carver (Doom Patrol, Supernatural) and Sarah Schechter (Superman & Lois, Titans). Neely has previously collaborated with Yockey on the Max series The Flight Attendant and also scored numerous shows for Berlanti & Schechter. Selçuk has provided additional music for and served as scoring assistant on several of Neely’s projects over the last couple of years. Dead Boy Detectives will premiere on April 25, 2024 on Netflix.
Neely’s other recent projects include Apple TV+’s Masters of the Air, which just finished its series run earlier this month, as well as Max’s The Girls on the Bus, which premiered a few weeks ago. He also continues to score Netflix’s You, which will return for its fifth and final season this year, as well as The CW’s All American and All American: Homecoming.
