Heitor Pereira (Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, The Smurfs, The Angry Bird Movie, Paw Patrol: The Movie, Smallfoot) has recently been recording his score for the upcoming animated sequel Despicable Me 4. The film is directed by Chris Renaud (The Secret Life of Pets, The Lorax) and features the voices of Steve Carell, Kristen Wiig, Will Ferrell, Joey King, Pierre Coffin, Sofia Vergara, Miranda Cosgrove, Stephen Colbert, Chloe Fineman, Chris Renaud, Steve Coogan, Dana Gaier and Madison Polan. The animated comedy follows Gru & Lucy and their girls as they welcome a new member to the Gru family, Gru Jr., who is intent on tormenting his dad. Mike White (The White Lotus, Orange County) and Ken Daurio (The Secret Life of Pets, Schmigadoon!) wrote the screenplay. Chris Meledandri (The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Sing) and Brett Hoffman are producing the Illumination Entertainment production. Pereira has previously scored the first three installments in the series and also composed the music for the both Minions spin-off features. Despicable Me 4 will be released in theaters nationwide on July 3, 2024 by Universal Pictures.
