David Buckley (Nobody, Papillon, Angel Has Fallen, The Forbidden Kingdom, Kandahar) is returning to score the new CBS drama Elsbeth. The composer has scored the pilot episode of the show created by Robert & Michelle King and starring Carrie Preston who reprises her role of Elsbeth Tascioni from the network’s The Good Wife and its spinoff The Good Fight, as well as Wendell Pierce, Carra Patterson and guest star Stephen Moyer. Siddhartha Khosla (This Is Us, Only Murders in the Building) is scoring the rest of the season, which follows the title character, an unconventional attorney who utilizes her singular point of view to make unique observations who – after leaving her successful legal career in Chicago – takes on a new investigative role in New York City. The Kings are also executive producing the production with showrunner Jonathan Tolins (Martian Child) and Liz Glotzer (The Mist, Friends with Benefits). Buckley has previously scored most episodes of The Good Wife and all episodes of The Good Fight. Elsbeth will premiere tomorrow, February 29 on CBS and will also be available to stream on Paramount+.
Buckley also continues to score the King-created/produced series Evil, which will return for its fourth and final season this May on Paramount+, Netflix’s The Sandman, which has been renewed for a second season and The Lincoln Lawyer, which will return for a third season.
