Cristobal Tapia de Veer (The White Lotus, Utopia, Smile, The Girl with All the Gifts, The Third Day, Hunters, National Treasure) has recently scored the upcoming drama Ponyboi. The film is directed by Esteban Arango (Blast Beat) and stars River Gallo, Dylan O’Brien, Victoria Pedretti, Indya Moore and Murray Bartlett. The movie takes place over the course of Valentine’s Day in New Jersey and follows a young intersex sex worker who must run from the mob after a drug deal goes sideways, forcing him to confront his past. Gallo also wrote the screenplay and is producing the project with Mark Ankner (Legacy: The True Story of the L.A. Lakers), Adel “Future” Nur (Euphoria, Top Boy) and Trevor Wall. Ponyboi will premiere later this week in competition at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival.
