Danny Bensi & Saunder Jurriaans (Ozark, The Outsider, The Gift, Enemy, The Staircase, Fear the Walking Dead, Boy Erased, A Murder at the End of the World, The White Tiger) are providing the original score for the upcoming TV series Penelope. The show is written by Mel Eslyn & Mark Duplass and stars Megan Stott and Austin Abrams. The drama revolves around a 16-year-old feeling out of place in modern society who is drawn into the unknown wilderness, where she begins forming a new life for herself. Eslyn (Outside In, Blue Jay) & Duplass (Cyrus, Jeff, Who Lives at Home) are also executive producing the project with Jay Duplass (Togetherness, Room 104) and Shuli Harel (The Drop). Bensi & Jurriaans have previously scored Eslyn’s directorial debut Biosphere and also composed the music for the Eslyn- & Duplass-produced feature The One I Love and HBO docuseries The Lady and the Dale (with Chase Deso & James Newberry). The pilot episode of Penelope will premiere this month at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival. No word yet on a premiere date for the full show.
