Kevin Matley (Concrete Cowboy, Path of the Panther) has recently scored the upcoming action comedy The Family Plan. The film is directed by Simon Cellan Jones (Some Voices, Years and Years) and stars Mark Wahlberg, Michelle Monaghan, Zoe Colletti, Saïd Taghmaoui, Van Crosby, Ciarán Hinds and Maggie Q. The movie follows a father of three and successful car salesman who used to be an elite government assassin tasked with eliminating the world’s deadliest threats and is now living a quiet suburban life, when enemies from his past show up and try to track him down. David Coggeshall (Orphan: First Kill, The Haunting in Connecticut 2: Ghosts of Georgia) wrote the screenplay. David Ellison & Dana Goldberg (Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, Reacher) and Don Granger (The Tomorrow War, The Old Guard) are producing the project for Skydance, alongside Wahlberg and Stephen Levinson (Entourage, Deepwater Horizon) for Municipal Pictures. The Family Plan will premiere on December 15, 2023 on Apple TV+.
Matley has previously scored Jones’ last feature, Arthur the King, starring Wahlberg, Nathalie Emmanuel, Simu Liu and Juliet Rylance. The adventure drama, which is based on Mikael Lindnord’s 2017 book Arthur: The Dog who Crossed the Jungle to Find a Home about the captain of a Swedish adventure racing team, was completed almost two years ago and is currently awaiting a distribution deal.
