Quartet Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack album for the 1981 Italian drama Three Brothers (Tre Fratelli) co-written and directed by Francesco Rosi and starring Philippe Noiret, Michele Placido, Vittorio Mezzogiorno and Andrea Ferréol. The album features the complete original score from the movie, which was Academy Award-nominated in the Best Foreign Language Film category in 1982, composed by Piero Piccioni (Contempt, The 10th Victim, The Deserter, More Than a Miracle, Camille 2000, The Light at the Edge of the World). The label has also announced the CD premiere release of the Piccioni’s score for the 1973 comedy drama The Scientific Cardplayer (Lo scopone scientifico) directed by Luigi Comencini and starring Alberto Sordi, Silvana Mangano, Bette Davis and Joseph Cotten.
