Nick Urata (Paddington, Ruby Sparks, Crazy, Stupid, Love., I Love You Phillip Morris, Focus) is returning as the composer of the new Nickelodeon original movie A Really Haunted Loud House. The film is directed by Jonathan Judge (Punky Brewster) and stars Wolfgang Schaeffer, Brian Stepanek, Jolie Jenkins, Sophia Woodward, Eva Carlton, Catherine Bradley, Aubin Bradley, Annaka Fourneret, August Michael Peterson, Jahzir Bruno and Martin Fajardo. The family horror/adventure comedy based on Nickelodeon’s animated show The Loud House follows Lincoln Loud and his best friend Clyde as they decide between trick or treating or attending a party hosted by the cool new kid at school.Tony Gama-Lobo & Rebecca May (Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie) and Tim Hobert (Scrubs, The Middle) wrote the teleplay. Judge is executive producing the project with Michael Rubiner (The Casagrandes) and Melanie Kirk & Don Dunn serve as the producers. Urata has previously scored 2021’s first live-action movie of the franchise: A Loud House Christmas. A Really Haunted Loud House will premiere this coming Thursday, September 28 on Nickelodeon and Paramount+.
Urata’s other recent projects include Jessica Yu’s Quiz Lady, which premiered earlier this month at the 2023 Toronto Film Festival and will premiere on November 3 on Hulu, as well as Luke Gilford’s National Anthem. He is also set to to score the animated feature Stitch Head and is expected to compose the music for Season 2 of Fox’s Animal Control.
