Matteo Zingales (99 Homes, Fahrenheit 451, The Hunter, Tidelands, Mystery Road) has composed the original music for the upcoming Australian/New Zealand historical epic The Convert. The film is directed by Lee Tamahori (Die Another Day, The Edge) and stars Guy Pearce, Tioreore Ngatai-Melbourne, Jacqueline McKenzie, Antonio Te Maioha and Lawrence Makoare. The movie tells the story of a newly arrived preacher in a colonial town in early 19th Century New Zealand who finds himself at the center of a long-standing battle between two Māori tribes. Tamahori also co-wrote the screenplay with Shane Danielsen (The World Made Straight, Errors of the Human Body). Troy Lum (The Water Diviner, Nekrotronic), Robin Scholes (Once Were Warriors, Mr. Pip), Andrew Mason (Dark City, I, Frankenstein) and Te Kohe Tuhaka are producing the project.
