Christopher Stracey (Maid, Cha Cha Real Smooth, War Pony) has composed the original score for the upcoming sci-fi romantic drama Fingernails. The film is directed by Christos Nikou (Apples) and stars Jessie Buckley, Riz Ahmed, Jeremy Allen White, Luke Wilson and Annie Murphy. The movie is set in a future, in which a test has been discovered that measures whether married couples are truly in love, and revolves around a woman who takes a position at a love testing institute.Nikou also co-wrote the screenplay with Stavros Raptis and Sam Steiner. He is also producing the project with Cate Blanchett, Andrew Upton (Stateless, The New Boy) and Coco Francini (Mrs. America) for Dirty Films, as well as Lucas Wiesendanger (Down Low) for FilmNation Entertainment. Fingernails will premiere at various film festivals over the next month and will be released in select theaters on October 27, 2023 before making its debut on November 3 on Apple TV+.
Stracey’s other upcoming projects include Laura Chinn’s Suncoast (co-scored with Este Haim). He has also scored John Trengove’s Manodrome, which premiered at this year’s Berlin Film Festival and will be released in the U.S. by Lionsgate.
