Sony Music has released the theme song from Hayao Miyazaki’s animated feature The Boy and the Heron. The track, entitled Spinning Globe, is written and performed by J-pop star Kenshi Yonezu and is now available to stream/download on all major digital music platforms, including Amazon. Also listen to the song after the jump. A full soundtrack album featuring Joe Hisaishi’s original score from the movie will be announced soon. The Boy and the Heron is written and directed by Miyazaki and produced by Studio Ghibli co-founder Toshio Suzuki. The animated film just opened in Japanese theaters this weekend and will be released in the U.S. later this year by GKIDS.
