Kathryn Bostic (Clemency, Toni Morrison: The Pieces I Am, Women of the Movement, Rita Moreno: Just a Girl Who Decided to Go for It, Holiday Rush) is scoring the new Freeform original animated series Praise Petey. The show is created by Anna Drezen and features the voice talent of Annie Murphy, John Cho, Kiersey Clemons, Christine Baranski, Amy Hill and Stephen Root. The animated comedy follows a New York City “it”whose life comes crashing down around her, when she receives a mysterious gift from her father that gives her a new lease on life. Drezen is also executive producing the 20th Television Animation production with Monica Padrick, as well as Bandera Entertainment’s Mike Judge (Office Space, Beavis and Butt-Head), Greg Daniels (The Office, Parks and Recreation) and Dustin Davis, and ShadowMachine’s Alex Bulkley & Corey Campodonico (Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio, Clone High). Praise Petey will premiere next Friday, July 21 on Freeform and will also be available to stream on Hulu.
Bostic’s other recent projects include Sam Pollard’s documentary The League, which was released in select theaters last weekend by Magnolia Pictures following its premiere at the 2023 Tribeca Film Festival and is now also available on VOD.
