Songwriter/composer Steve Dorff (Growing Pains, Blast from the Past, Murphy Brown, Dudley Do-Right, Major Dad) has provided the original score for the new western Dead Man’s Hand. The film is directed by Brian Skiba (Pursuit, The 2nd) and stars Stephen Dorff, Jack Kilmer, Cole Hauser, Camille Collard, Mo Brings Plenty, Randall Batinkoff and Forrie J. Smith. The movie is based on the graphic novel No Rest for the Wicked by Kevin Minor & Matthew Minor and follows a gunslinger who is headed west for a quiet life with his new bride, when their stagecoach is ambushed and he kills an outlaw in self-defense. Skiba also co-wrote the screenplay with Corin Nemec. He is also producing the project with Laurie Love (Blood Moon Rising), Batinkoff (Inside Game), Louise Linton (Me You Madness, Intruder) and Jim Burleson. Dead Man’s Hand will be released in select theaters and on VOD on July 7, 2023 by Lionsgate before coming out on DVD on August 22.
Dorff’s other recent projects include Justin Ward’s family comedy The Furry Fortune, which is currently awaiting a release date.
