Polish pianist, singer and composer Hania Rani is making her international television scoring debut on the upcoming Australian Amazon original series The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart. The show is based on Holly Ringland’s best-selling novel of the same name and stars Sigourney Weaver, Asher Keddie, Leah Purcell, Frankie Adams, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Alyla Browne, Xavier Samuel and Sebastián Zurita. The 7-part drama tells the story of a young girl whose violent childhood casts a dark shadow over her adult life. Weaver is also executive producing the Amazon Studios, Made Up Stories and Fifth Season production with Jodi Matterson (Roar, Little Monsters), Bruna Papandrea (Big Little Lies, Wild), Steve Hutensky (The Nightingale, The Dry), Sarah Lambert (Love Child, The Messenger), as well as Glendyn Ivin (Penguin Bloom) who also directed all episodes. Rani has previously scored several Polish features (including 2020’s I Never Cry and last year’s Subuk) and shorts. The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart will premiere on August 4, 2023 on Prime Video.
