Sherri Chung (Kung Fu, Riverdale, Batwoman, The Lost Husband, Blindspot) has been tapped to score the upcoming Peacock original series Based on a True Story. The show is created by Craig Rosenberg (The Boys) and stars Kaley Cuoco, Chris Messina, Tom Bateman, Liana Liberato, Natalia Dyer, Priscilla Quintana, Aisha Alfa, Alex Alomar Akpobome, Annabelle Dexter-Jones and Li Jun Li. The 8-part comedic thriller revolves around a realtor, a plumber and a former tennis star whose lives unexpectedly collide, exposing America’s obsession with true crime and murder. Rosenberg & Cuoco are also executive producing the UCP production with Jason Bateman and Michael Costigan (Under the Banner of Heaven, A Teacher, A Bigger Splash). Based on a True Story will premiere on June 8, 2023 exclusively on Peacock.
Chung’s other recent projects include the animated series Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai, which will premiere next Thursday, May 23 on (HBO) Max.
