Dan Romer (Luca, Beasts of the Southern Wild, Maniac, Superman & Lois, Station Eleven) & Osei Essed (How to Survive a Pandemic, Finders Keepers, Katrina Babies) have teamed up to score the new Disney+ original movie Crater. The film is directed by Kyle Patrick Alvarez (The Stanford Prison Experiment, Homecoming) and stars Isaiah Russell-Bailey, Mckenna Grace, Billy Barratt, Thomas Boyce, Orson Hong and Scott Mescudi. The coming-of-age sci-fi adventure tells the story of a boy raised on a lunar mining colony who – together with his three best friends – goes on a trip to explore a mysterious crater to fulfill the last wish of his recently deceased father. John Griffin (From) wrote the screenplay. Shawn Levy (Free Guy, Real Steel), Dan Levine (Arrival, Shadow and Bone) and Dan Cohen (Stranger Things, Love and Monsters) are producing the 21 Laps production. Crater will premiere next Friday, May 12 exclusively on Disney+.
Romer & Essed have also recently co-scored the Hulu original series Saint X, which just premiered last month.
