Jason Hill (Mindhunter, Voir, The Confession Killer, Love, Death & Robots) has been tapped to score the upcoming Apple TV+ original series City on Fire. The show is developed by Josh Schwartz (The O.C.) & Stephanie Savage (Gossip Girl) and stars Wyatt Oleff, Chase Sui Wonders, Jemima Kirke, Xavier Clyde, Nico Tortorella, Ashley Zukerman, Alexandra Doke, Max Milner, Omid Abtahi, Kathleen Munroe and John Cameron Mitchell. The 8-part drama is inspired by the novel of the same name by Garth Risk Hallberg and revolves around a crime against a NYU student who is shot in Central Park on the Fourth of July, 2003. Schwartz & Savage are also executive producing the Fake Empire production with Lis Rowinski (Nancy Drew), as well as Jesse Peretz (Our Idiot Brothers, Juliet, Naked) who also directed several episodes. City on Fire will premiere on May 12, 2023 on Apple TV+.
Hill has also recently scored multiple episodes of the Apple TV+ limited series Extrapolations, which just premiered last Friday. His also composed the music for Elijah Bynum’s Jonathan Majors-starring drama Magazine Dreams, which premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and has been picked up by Searchlight Pictures for a theatrical release later this year.
