Grammy Award-winning songwriters/music producers Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis have made their television scoring debut on Onyx Collective’s new Hulu original series UnPrisoned. They also serve as the executive music producers on the show created by Tracy McMillan and starring Kerry Washington, Delroy Lindo, Faly Rakotohavana, Marque Richardson and Jordyn McIntosh. The comedy is based on McMillan’s life and centers on a messy but perfectionist relationship therapist and single mom whose life is turned right-side-up when her dad gets out of prison and moves in with her and her teenage son. McMillan, Washington & Lindo are also executive producing the ABC Signature production with Yvette Lee Bowser (Dear White People, Run the World), Pilar Savone (Django Unchained, Little Fires Everywhere), Joy Gorman Wettels (13 Reasons Why, Seeking a Friend for the End of the World) and Jen Braeden. Jam & Lewis have previously scored the 2003 feature The Fighting Temptations and contributed songs to several films, including John Singleton’s Poetic Justice, for which they received an Academy Award nomination (alongside Janet Jackson). UnPrisoned is premiering today exclusively on Hulu.
