Sam Ewing (The Walking Dead, Last Seen Alive, The Shed, Victor Crawley) has composed the original score for the upcoming romantic drama Beautiful Disaster. The film is written and directed by Roger Kumble (Cruel Intentions, The Sweetest Thing) and stars Dylan Sprouse, Virginia Gardner, Austin North, Neil Bishop, Libe Barer, Micky Dartford, Declan Laird, Jack Hesketh, Trevor Von Uden, Brian Austin Green and Rob Estes. The movie is based on the best-selling YA novel by Jamie McGuire and follows a college freshman eager to focus on her studies and start a new social life whose plans are quickly derailed when she meets a bad-boy brawler and campus playboy. Kumble is also producing the Voltage Pictures production with Nicolas Chartier (The Hurt Locker, Killer Joe), Brian Pitt & Jonathan Deckter (After We Fell, After Ever Happy) and Mark Clayman. Ewing has previously scored last year’s Last Man Alive for Voltage. Beautiful Disaster will be released in U.S. theaters for two-nights-only on April 12 & 13 by Fathom Events.
Also coming up for Ewing is Matthew Goodhue’s horror comedy Slotherhouse, which is also expected to premiere this year.
