Richard Reed Parry (of Arcade Fire) has recently been scoring the upcoming thriller Eileen. The film is directed by William Oldroyd (Lady Macbeth) and stars Thomasin McKenzie, Anne Hathaway, Shea Whigham, Marin Ireland and Owen Teague. The movie based on Ottessa Moshfegh’s novel of the same name is set during a bitter 1964 Massachusetts winter and follows a young secretary who becomes enchanted by the glamorous new counselor at the prison where she works. Luke Goebel (Causeway) & Moshfegh wrote the screenplay. Oldroyd, Moshfegh & Goebel are also producing the project with Likely Story’s Anthony Bregman (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Foxcatcher), Stefanie Azpiazu (Private Life, Enough Said) and Peter Cron (Someone Great, Do Revenge). Parry has previously scored Sean Durkin’s 2020 feature The Nest and also composed an unused score for last year’s First Love directed by A.J. Edwards. Eileen will premiere in January at the 2023 Sundance Festival.
