Hans Zimmer (The Dark Knight, The Lion King, Gladiator, Inception) & Steve Mazzaro (The Boss Baby, Army of Thieves, The Rhythm Section) have been tapped to score the upcoming Peacock original series The Calling. The show is developed by David E. Kelley (Ally McBeal, The Practice, Big Little Lies) based on Dror Mishani’s series of books and stars Jeff Willbusch, Juliana Canfield, Karen Robinson and Michael Mosley. The crime drama tells the story of a NYPD Detective guided by a deep sense of spirituality and religious principles who is left to question his own humanity when a seemingly routine investigation turns upside down. Kelley & Mishani are also executive producing the Universal Television production with Jason Horwitch (Berlin Station), Jonathan Shapiro (Goliath), Matthew Tinker, as well as Keshet Studios’ Peter Traugott, Alon Shrutzman & Avi Nir (La Brea) and Karni Ziv (The Brave). Barry Levinson (Good Morning, Vietnam, Sleepers) has directed multiple episodes and is also executive producing the project. Zimmer has previously scored several features for Levinson, including Rain Man, Toys, An Everlasting Piece and The Survivor. The Calling will premiere on November 10, 2022 on Peacock.

Zimmer & Mazzaro have also recently been co-writing music for the upcoming video Ashfall, which is set to be released in 2023. Zimmer’s other upcoming projects include Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Two, which is scheduled to be released in theaters on November 17, 2023.
