John Paesano (Daredevil, The Maze Runner, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Penny Dreadful: City of Angels, The Defenders, Cheaper by the Dozen) is scoring the upcoming animated feature Night at the Museum: Kahmunrah Rises Again. The film is based on the 1993 children’s book by Milan Trenc and 20th Century Fox’s live-action movie franchise (scored by Alan Silvestri) centers on Nick Daley, the son of museum nightwatchman Larry Daley (portrayed by Ben Stiller in the previous movies) as he deals with following his father’s footsteps. No casting announcements have been made yet for the Twentieth Century Fox Animation production. 21 Laps Entertainment’s Shawn Levy (Free Guy, Real Steel) who directed all three live-action movies is producing the project. Paesano has previously scored last year’s Diary of a Wimpy Kid animated film for Twentieth Century Fox Animation. Night at the Museum: Kahmunrah Rises Again is expected to premiere in late 2022 or early 2023 on Disney+.
Paesano also continues to score Amazon’s Invincible, which will return for a second season in 2023, Apple TV+’s Truth Be Told, which has been renewed for a third season. He also composed the music for Sky’s Devils, which currently airs in its second season in the U.S. every Tuesday on The CW.
