James L. Venable (Scary Movie 3, 4 & 5, Samurai Jack, EuroTrip, The Powerpuff Girls) is returning as the composer of the upcoming comedy sequel Clerks III. The film is written and directed by Kevin Smith and stars Brian O’Halloran, Jeff Anderson, Trevor Fehrman, Jason Mewes, Austin Zajur, Rosario Dawson, Marilyn Ghigliotti, as well as Smith himself. The movie follows Randal who – after experiencing a massive heart attack – enlists his friends and fellow clerks to make a movie immortalizing his life at the convenience store that started it all. Smith is also producing the project with Liz Destro (Life of Crime, Lizzie) and Jordan Monsanto (Yoga Hosers). Venable has previously scored Smith’s first Clerks sequel, Clerks II, and also collaborated with the filmmaker on such features as Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back and its 2019 reboot Jersey Girl and Zack and Miri Make a Porno.
