Matthew Margeson (Kingsman: The Secret Service, Rocketman, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, Eddie the Eagle, Pam & Tommy) is composing the underscore for the upcoming musical comedy Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile. The film is directed by Will Speck & Josh Gordon (Blades of Glory, Office Christmas Party) and stars Javier Bardem, Constance Wu, Winslow Fegley, Scoot McNairy, Brett Gelman, as well as Shawn Mendes as the voices of the title character. The movie is based on Bernard Waber’s bestselling children’s book of the same title and follows a boy who discovers a a singing crocodile who loves baths, caviar and great music-living in the attic of his new home and must team up with his eccentric owner to protect his new friend Will Davies (Johnny English, Twins) wrote the screenplay. Speck & Gordon are also producing the project with Hutch Parker (Logan, X-Men: Days of Future Past). As previously announced, Benj Pasek & Justin Paul have composed the comedy’soriginal songs. Ari Afsar, Emily Gardner Xu Hall, Mark Sonnenblick, and Joriah Kwamé are also part of the songwriting team. Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile will be released in theaters nationwide on October 7, 2022 by Sony Pictures.
Margeson also continues to score the Disney Junior animated series Alice’s Wonderland Bakery, which has been renewed for a second season.
