Paul Haslinger (Underworld, Halt and Catch Fire, Crank, Monster Hunter, Death Race, Resident Evil: The Final Chapter) has composed the original music for the upcoming documentary The YouTube Effect. The film is directed by Alex Winter (Freaked, Zappa, The Panama Papers) and explores the ascension and potential fall of YouTube, the world’s most popular video-sharing website, and the unforeseen privacy and ethical problems that it created. The movie features a group of YouTubers, reporters, and experts who join Winters in interrogating the effects that could be the can result in the site’s downfall. Winter is also producing the project with Gale Ann Hurd (The Terminator, Aliens, Armageddon) and Glen Zipper (Challenger: The Final Flight, UFO). Haslinger has previously scored the first seasons of the Hurd-produced AMC series Fear the Walking Dead. The YouTube Effect will premiere this June at the 2022 Tribeca Film Festival.
