Isobel Waller-Bridge (Fleabag, Emma, Vita & Virginia, Vanity Fair, The Split, The ABC Murders) has been tapped to score the upcoming Apple TV+ anthology series Roar. The show is created by Liz Flahive & Carly Mensch (GLOW) and stars Nicole Kidman, Cynthia Erivo, Merritt Wever, Alison Brie, Betty Gilpin, Meera Syal, Fivel Stewart and Kara Hayward. The comedy based on a book of short stories by Cecelia Ahern is being described as “a collection of eight half-hour genre-bending episodes, told from a uniquely female point of view.” Flahive and Mensch are also executive producing the Endeavor Content production with Kidman & Per Saari (Big Little Lies, The Undoing) for Blossom Films, Bruna Papandrea (Wild, The Nightingale), Steve Hutensky & Jodi Matterson (Nine Perfect Strangers, The Dry) and Allie Goss (The Crown, Daredevil) for Made Up Stories, Theresa Park (After Yang, The Longest Ride) for Per Capita Productions, as well as Ahern (Samantha Who?) for Greenlight Go. Roar will premiere later this year on Apple TV+.
Waller-Bridge’s other recent projects include the spy thriller Munich – The Edge of War, which is currently playing in select theaters and will premiere on Netflix this coming Friday, January 21, as well as Craig Roberts’ The Phantom of the Open, which premiered at last year’s BFI London Film Festival and is expected to be released in the UK this year.
