Why Not Productions has released a soundtrack album for the French drama The Crusade (La croisade). The album features the film’s original music composed by Grégoire Hetzel (Ismael’s Ghosts, Incendies, Lovers, The Midwife, Summertime, Oh Mercy!, Holy Lands). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download here, where you can also check out the track list and listen to audio samples. The Crusade is directed by Louis Garrel and stars Laetitia Casta, Joseph Engel, as well as Garrel himself who also co-wrote the screenplay with Jean-Claude Carrière. The movie follows a couple who discover that their 13-year-old son has been selling the family’s valuables to finance a secret ecological project in Africa he believes will save the planet. The drama premiered at last year’s Cannes Film Festival and has been released in French theaters last month. No word yet on a domestic distribution deal.
