The film is written and directed by Federle and stars Rueby Wood, Norbert Leo Butz, Lisa Kudrow, Aria Brooks, Michelle Federer and Joshua Bassett. The comedy drama is based on Federle’s book of the same title and follows a 13-year-old Pittsburgher who sneaks off to a major musical audition in the Big Apple with his best friend after not being cast in their school play. Mann has previously collaborated with Federle on the Disney+ series High School Musical: The Musical – The Series, which will return for a third season in 2022. Better Nate Than Never will premiere next spring exclusively on Disney+.

Mann also continues to score ABC’s A Million Little Things, which currently airs in its fourth season every Wednesday night and is also expected to return to co-score the second season of Paramount+’s iCarly reboot.
